Step 3: Act
During this phase, the planning team will work with the community to prepare strategies for achieving the plan and role all the work products from earlier steps (Step 1 and Step 2) into a draft Master Plan. An action plan will guide priorities for achieving goals and policies of the Plan.
Look for the following Step 3 work products:
- Implementation Strategies — With the community, the planning team will explore different strategies to Act on the goals and policies of the plan. It will be important to develop priorities for carrying out the vision and goals of the plan.
- Draft and Final Master Plan — The Master Plan will contain numerous chapters. Theses chapter are anticipated to be organized by subject and convey the vision, goals, policies, land use plan, and implementation strategies. The appendices will also contain background and context information. Before adoption, numerous entities will help review and provide comments on the draft plan, including the Citizen Advisory Committee, elected and appointed officials, and the public. The City Planning Commission and City Council are the entities responsible for adopting the plan, once it is complete.
